Lose 10 Pounds Quick

I had a client that I was training who needed to lose weight in two weeks. She was in a do or die situation. Her dress for her daughter’s wedding didn’t fit because she was 10 pounds overweight. The wedding was only two weeks away. Typically, diet is the way to control your weight. You should not try to use exercise for this goal. However, if you need to drop weight quickly–especially in a couple weeks’ time–then my recommendation is do as much exercise as you possibly can while trimming as many calories from your diet as possible. This is an effective way to lose weight in two weeks.

If you were to workout very hard all the time, you would simply cause yourself more trouble. You could find yourself with a suppressed immune system, injuries from overuse, and ultimately burn out. But over training for a very short period of time to burn calories and lose weight quickly is alright. The trick is to not exceed two weeks with workouts like this. It’s also OK to eat as little as possible for a short period of time to create a large calorie deficit.

Losing Up to Ten Pounds in a Two Week Period

You want to cut down on your calorie intake as much as you can. The best advice for doing this is to fast intermittently. I wrote an article about fasting, which would help you learn how to fast and why. But skipping meals whenever possible or even an all-out fast for an entire twenty-four period as often as you possibly can during this two week period.

Grains should be cut out completely during this time period. You cut out some useless calories by taking grains out of your diet, you cut a lot of calories.

Cut out empty calories from beverages. Remove the sugar from your diet. Take out as much sugar as you possibly can from your diet. This will make an unbelievable difference in your weight. Sugar does nothing for you nutritionally and packs on weight.

* Remove processed foods from your diet as well. This means no processed foods and no fried foods.

* Eat only vegetables, protein and fat. Read my article about eating vegetables, protein and fat.

* When you workout, do so with an empty stomach. If you must eat, make it only a scoop of whey protein mixed with water. You can have this just before you begin your workout.

* Make your workouts varied between easy and hard workouts. Don’t hurt yourself but spend as much time as you can working out.

* Every day that you possibly can, you need to take very long walks. Hours of walking is your aim. Keep your more difficult workouts to one hour per day. These should be a combination of resistance and interval training with weights.

This advice should only be applied to weight loss efforts for a short period of time. You cannot stay on this type of plan for more than two weeks at a time. If you train like this for too long you will eventually wind up in trouble. But certainly try these tips if you need to shed pounds quickly. Following this type of program, I have had many clients lost more weight than they imagined they could. So, don’t be afraid to try it for a short period of time.
